Morgan's Pillow

Today Morgan made (stuffed) her pillow! I sewed it together and now she has her handmade pillow to put on her bed! Yahoo! Huggerz and sweet dreams ...laurel

Day 4, Friday's progress on the baby sampler

I made a lot of progress on the baby sampler yesterday! I am really pleased.

My eyes are straying towards a small project for my niece. It is a few pumpkins with Autumn written on it. And her name is Autumn! She started to cross stitch last fall and needed to borrow some Christmas ornament books yesterday to start this years ornaments for all her nieces and nephews! Autumns sister is the one with twins! She wants me to show her how to finish the ornaments and knows she has to start early to get them all done. Last year she did Precious Moment ornaments. My daughter called last evening to let me know that she (Autumn) picked out some ornaments and is afraid she may have chosen to hard to stitch ones. I told her that they would stitch up just fine! lol She has 7 months to do 8 ornaments! Can't wait to see what she has chosen.

Today is rainy and cold, so Morgan and I will have to stay inside and color and craft. I just cut out a square of pink fabric and sewed it into a pillow cover for her to stuff. Jayson stuffed one a while back and now it is her turn. So off to get her going on the pillow. Huggerz and stitches laurel

No progress to show

I didn't stitch a stitch on Thursday! That is so NOT like me. But I made up for it today and will post a picture in the AM. I have Morgan tonight and she is now sound to sleep. I watched the Cleveland Cavaliers win their game....what a game. I don't think I can take many more of these kind of games! Off to bed, so I can get a lot of sleep, so I can stitch lots tomorrow@ Have a great night huggerz laurel

Day 2 progress on Baby Sampler

I am this far already! I think I may do all the borders before filling in the squares. I have been looking for 2 pink buttons for Baylee's dress for 2 days now. I know they are here somewhere! I guess I will have to break down and buy 2 cute buttons tomorrow and finish the dress so I can get it sent to Chrissy! I know I will find them as soon as I buy 2 more! LOL That's the way it is supposed to happen....right?

Not much going on today. I got Jayson up at 8am, because his mom was picking him up to go to the doctors. Both Morgan and Jayson were to get their shots for kindergarten this morning. But, they didn't because Jamie forgot Morgans insurance card and Jayson's dad needs to get on the ball and get Jamie the new insurance card for him. What a pain in the butt. Jayson and I could have slept in another hour or so....... He is going to be one tired kid by the time he is out of pre-school today!

Day one results of the baby sampler

Here is what I got done on day one. I am hoping I can get her done quickly. I am now planning a baby shower for Jamie. Jayson will be 6 in November and she is having a girl, so she has no baby stuff left. They bought a crib and a few other things. It's like starting all over again! I think the date for the shower is June 22. All the other Sundays in June are taken and I am cutting it close since she is due July 14. I sure could use some ideas. New ideas for this baby shower are welcome! The last shower I gave was a diaper shower for Brittany. That went really well. Braylon is 4 months old and she is just now having to go buy diapers for him. That was a real help with formula being so expensive. Well off for now, I need to get some errands run before I run out of steam. I am still looking for a job. That is pretty depressing, since there seems to be nothing out there, in this area. I did find a place to get some diabetic supplies for free, if I qualify. I go on Thurs to fill out the paper work. Wish me luck!

I called my daughter-in-law this AM. They live in Portsmouth, VA., not far from the tornado's that touched down yesterday. She and the kids are OK. My son is out on ship, somewhere? From what I understand the ship has be informed about how their families are doing. I told her I need to be down there! lol How do those Military wives keep going day to day without their men at home.....God Bless them!
Have a great day! huggerz laurel

Brittany at the fair in 1993 Memories.......

Here is a picture of my daughter Brittany (in blue hat)at the Lorain County Fair in 1993. She is probably perched on the outside wall of the pig barn, across the drive from the horse arena. She was known by all her friends and family as "Brit the Brat". I was a 4-H Advisor for 14 years and we lived at the fair the whole week! We took the camper and the small animals and spent a lot of time watching the judging and cleaning barns. She was about 7, I think, and probably had her rabbit out there. LOL huggerz mom

A cold day in OHIO

What happened to SPRING? It has been very chilly here in OHIO and this makes me feel like blaaaaa. I have been in bed most of the day. I have such a headache from allergies, along with the sneezing, watery eyes, running nose...then stuffy nose. Shoot it can't make up it's mind! lol Even though I seem to go through this every spring, summer and fall....I still love to see the spring and sunshine! Go figure!

Well I decided to do the Sophie Birth record (sample picture posted above) for the new baby coming in July. I did the same sampler for Baylee and thought I should choose a different one...but, this sampler is just too darned cute to not do it again! I cut the material and will be doing this one on 16 count white because I didn't have any extra 14 count white (that's for Baylee's stocking). So I will get started on this and then next in line will be the stockings and my Stitch-A-Longs. Have a great day! huggerz laurel

Baylee's little sundress

I cut this out this afternoon and sewed it together. I am going to put snaps on the shoulders and find 2 large cute buttons to sew on there too. I just love it and need to get it sent to Chrissy to see what adjustments that need to be made. It may be too large for her. I zig-zaged the 16 burp cloths that I had sewn together last week and will make some more this week and that should be it for the burp cloths...for now. Tomorrow I will pull threads for Baylee's Christmas stocking and get the fabric ready to go. Then I need to get to the stitch shop and buy the pearl cotton thread for Braylon's stocking. Have a great evening! huggerz laurel

More Yummy fabric!

I found some cute flannel for girls, and I am going to finish up burp cloths this week...I hope. The dragonfly and Indians material is regular cotton fabric. I am going to make a few pair of shorts from the Indians fabric and the dragonfly fabric is for a dress for Baylee. Time to get started! lol Have a great day stitching. huggerz laurel
