In the beginning

There were two, beautiful, blue, eyes. Then sweet pink cheeks and rose bud lips were brushed in, along with several colors of wispy, fine, hair. This is my progress on Baylee's Christmas Stocking. I did change the color of her cheeks because the other color was so pink...she looked like she had a fever!

I went to the stitch shop today and bought the #5 DMC Perle Cotton thread. And, of course when you go to the shop you always pick up things that you do not need! Today was no different. I bought "Block Party Dream Dance" by Forever In My Heart. These blocks are so cute! I guess I will add them to my long list of things I want to stitch!

In the beginning.............

There were two, beautiful, blue eyes! I have begun Baylee's Christmas Stocking! I started it around 8PM last night. I will probably post the progress every few days. I still have a couple ornaments to stitch up. I need to find some Pearl Cotton #5 for Braylon's stocking. Where do you buy #5 Pearl Cotton? Pat Catans does not carry it. I will need to call around to the Cross Stitch stores today. Well off for now to make some calls. Have a great day stitching. laurel

Another Christmas Ornament finish!

Wednesday was kind of a crappy day. Cool, damp and lots of rain. And...the CAVS LOST!
I would like to know why they even bother to show up...if they aren't going to dig in and play! OH Well......It was a good game for the other team!

I finished another Christmas ornament. It is a free poinsettia chart from Eterna Silk. I used a DMC green for the leaves and the "Poinsettia" color floss from Sampler Threads. I also used an Aida fabric that had flecks of gold in it.

Today I am going to get real serious on getting the stocking threads together and ready to stitch. I think that getting the stuff ready takes to long. While searching for the material, I will, for sure find cross stitch books tucked away in the boxes, to look at. While getting the threads together I will, for sure, need several colors and will need to go to the craft store or cross stitch shop to buy them. When this happens I end up with more then I need!!! So today will be a good day for sure! lol Have a great day stitching...laurel

Kelsey 3D, and a no stitch night!

The pictures that I have posted today are of my new grand daughter Kelsey, she is due July 14th. Can't wait to meet her.

Can you believe it? I did not stitch anything last night! I did, however, spend several hours looking through cross stitch books. I think I went to bed at 1AM. I found things that I want to do, things that I wanted to do and things that I HAVE TO DO! What a nice, quiet evening I had watching the Cleveland Indians game (have no idea who won!) and going through my stash! I did find an easy poinsettia flower that I may do with the Sampler Threads Poinsettia floss.

Tonight is CAVs game #5 in Boston! Jayson will be spending the night so he can watch the game and count the stars on the ceiling when it is time to go to bed. The other night I told him that someday he will be too old to count the stars with me-maw. He told me that even when he was six he will still count the stars with me. Then out of the blue he said "Me-maw, even when I am 31 I will still count the stars with you". I told him to never grow to old to count the stars. Christmas Ornament SAL finish

Last night and today I focused on stitching my APRIL Christmas Ornament for the Stitch-a-long. Here is my Angel for April. She is a Told In A Garden free chart from 1986 called "Amish Angel". I did one of these way back in the day for my daughter Bethannie and she still hangs on my tree at Christmas. I need to get caught up on my ornaments! I still have several to do. Baby Sampler is finished

Today was stitch day 13 and the baby sampler is now done. I will add the baby's name and baby stats in July, when she arrives. Now I need to find or order a frame for the sampler! I am very happy as to how it turned out. This is my second Sophie finish. I also did this sampler for Baylee. Now I need to get busy on the stockings and I think I will take a few days to frame some snowmen and do a couple of Christmas ornaments. Have a great day stitching. GO CAVALIERS!!!!!!!!

Day 12 Baby sampler...almost done!

This is the results of day 12.

Mothers day was wonderful! I got a dozen roses from my middle daughter, my youngest made breakfast, my oldest daughter gave me a Yankee Candle and my son and daughter-in-law gave me a gift certificate to use at Pat Catans! I also got a Willow for my 1/2 birthday!!!! Thank you kids...you are the best and I love you the most! huggerz mom/me-maw/laurel

Day 11 baby sampler

This sample was going so well and then boom...it is going soooooooo slow! lol I have been kind of distracted with grandkids and basketball games. I know that the basketball is not a good excuse...but...I watch that with my grandson...so it counts too.

This is what I did yesterday...poor, poor, Cody. I started out just clipping him and ended up clipping him to the skin. Well he does have some hair left! The hair that's left is on his head and below the elbows. He looks like a farmer with a whit t-shirt and a farmers tan. Next hair cut will be with clipper guards and a new blade! At least he isn't shedding. I trimmed his tale, underneath and the top of his tale didn't get clipped. I think he would rather I cross stitched. He is such a sweet dog. Love him lots.
