My Grandson's talk with God

Jayson and great-grandmas dog, Kipton

On the way home from making baskets the other day my grandson asked... "Me-maw is God in the clouds?" I said Yes....God is in everything. He said "Is God in me?" I said yes...God is in everyone and everything. Jayson asked.. "Can I talk to God?" I said yes...you can talk to him and ask him questions and then you have to be very quiet so you can hear his answer. A few minutes later... Jayson said..."God answered me!" I said...he did? What did he say? Jayson replied..."He said for me to quit hitting myself with my matchbox car...cause it hurts!" lol I said...do you really think you had to ask God a question that you already knew the answer to? lol KIDS....You gotta love them! huggerz laurel

My planned Saturday.......I THINK!

Today I am just going to laze around and stitch and crochet and sew! Did I say laze? I also just added: do the dishes...I am out of forks and butter knives! I also added washing, and sweeping to the list. Shoot...looks like my Saturday is starting to look kind of like a work day! Maybe I will do a few knives and forks to get me to Sunday, wash clothes and throw them in the dryer and fold them on Sunday and sweep on Sunday! Shoot Fire...I just ruined my Sunday...Guess I should go back to bed and rethink my 2 days! lol Anyway...I sure did want to work on stitching and crochet. Here is how far I have gotten on both. I started the mauve and off white afghan when I finished the pink and white baby blanket. I also need to finish up burp cloths for a baby shower next Saturday. Well got to get busy the day is half over and all I have gotten done is putting clothes in the washer. Have a great day doing whatever you need to do. huggerz laurel

What a beautiful day! Made another basket! Tin kitchen ceiling.

It was just beautiful outside today. We made baskets at Allison's house today. She lives around the country corner from her sister Stephanie. She got a blue basket for Landen done today and Stephanie just has to lash on the handle to the John Deere basket.

The kids played out under the huge tree. Morgan took turns with Ashlyn to swing the twins and pull them in the wagon. Kelsey slept in the stroller and Maylee slept in her car seat. Had a great day......and the next basket get-together is next Wednesday. We ran out of reed for making the handles ...so I ordered some and it should be here on Monday.

Allison's kitchen ceiling is almost done. It is made from the tin that was on their roof of the old farm house they bought. It is just beautiful! I just had to take pictures.

Have a great day crafting! huggerz laurel

Another basket making day!

Maylee was excited to see her basket was finished...so mommy would spend some baby time with her! lol

Today was another day to start new baskets and finish the one started yesterday! Allison came over to her sister Stephanie's house and between the 2 girls there are 6 kids! Allison's twins are walking! They just turned 1 year old and they have a big sister Ashlyn who is 5. Stephanie was excited to lash the rim onto her basket and call it finished.

She started another one for one of the boys and it will be John Deere green and yellow...the third one will also be John Deere yellow and green! I am not sure what colors Allison is picking for the twins and Ashlyn. Allison did get started on a basket ...and the twins were right there wanting to help!

LOL We had a good day weaving..changing and feeding babies....for sure. Gosh I am tired ...LOL Have a great day crafting! More weaving to do tomorrow! I am ready for a long nap! huggers laurel

Making baskets!

Stephanie working on Maylee's basket

Jamie holding Maylee (3 months) and Stephanie holding Kelsey

Today I went to my niece Stephannie's house....way out in the country to help her make Easter Baskets. She made a couple smaller baskets with a lady that teaches weaving and didn't like them. I have been making baskets for 20 plus years and she and her sister Allison has been wanting me to teach them since last fall. So today was the day to get started. Got everything done except lashing on the rim. I hope to run out there tomorrow and help her with that and I also hope Allison and the twins will be there. Jamie came out for a little bit and helped with Maylee. Stephanie also has 2 boys...Lane is 5 and Cadin is 3. It was a pretty nice day till it rained. Then, the kids had to all come in and play...lots of noise heard by all! lol gotta love them. I think the best part was when Lane needed a measuring cup to take upstairs...cause he was making a recipe with cheerios. When they brought it down it was a jar of cheerios in cloudy water. I found out from Jayson on the way home that the water came from the toilet! yuck...boys will be boys...and Jayson said he was NOT going to try that recipe! lol have a great day stitching and weaving....huggerz laurel

Finished pink blanket

Late last night I finished the pink granny square baby blanket. This blanket is 35inches x 35 inches. I went to bed at 12:30 AM. These late nights kill me! lol But when you have that "just one more stitch" in your head....you just gotta keep going. Kind of like reading that book....just one more page. About that book....I decided to read the ending...so I could go back to stitching!!!! My bad. I also started the Angel stocking by Lizzie Kate on Sat. and worked on it Sunday. I kind of went back and forth stitching and crocheting. Today I am going to call a couple of camera shops to see about getting my camera fixed. Bethannies camera is nice but doesn't have a baby mode on it and if the baby moves...it is blurry. The pictures I took yesterday of Kelsey....are blurred...she was awake! lol Well off to do the camera thing and I need to finish up the burp cloths and if I get time I need to stitch and work on the round ripple blanket. I picked up the yarn to finish that. Oh yes I also started a mauve and off white granny square blanket. Not sure if I am going to do it all in one square or do several squares. have a great day stitching. huggerz laurel
