Where have I been?

This is the start of a baby blanket (yellow and black) and the progress on the tree skirt.
I have been visiting Toni! I went over to her house, a mile from Penn. to stitch and go through her stash, and watch TV and eat junk food! We ended up at Pat Catans picking out yarn cause Toni wanted to re-learn making granny squares! SO ...no x-stitching got done yesterday. We were bad girls. She started crocheting her cameo granny square and her daughter Ammie asked if I could make her a Pittsburgh Steeler's baby blanket! Now that is hard for me to do cause I am a Cleveland Browns fan...and I feel like a traitor! But ...what the heck it is for a baby! Toni and I watched the Indians game then the Pittsburgh game and then some Olympic openings. I had a great time! On SAT we went to a stitch shop in PA. Got a few things to make another Christmas stocking with. I feel like going to Toni's is like going to a stitch shop! That girl has more stash then a person could stitch in 10 lifetimes! I just want to say that Toni has a cute house with a bunch of trees and wooded areas. Her house is huge on the inside and looks small from the outside! Thank you Toni for a great time. huggerz laurel

Stocking Finish!

Here is Kelsey's Christmas Stocking. One of these days I am going to get a camera that doesn't move! lol I just finished the cross stitch part of it. Now I have 4 stockings to get put together! I started stitching as soon as I got home from work, very determined to finish. Last night before I went to bed, after I put away the stocking...I decided to crochet a Christmas tree skirt. I had bought some Red heart Holiday yarn went it went on sale after Christmas and my mom gave me a ton of old crochet books, and there it was and there I was starting to crochet the skirt...when I need to be in bed and up by 6:15AM!!! Bad move by me...got up on the tired side! lol

I also want to show off a stocking...made for me by my dear friend.. Toni. Knowing how much I love snowmen...she thought it would be perfect for me. Of all the stockings I have done...I have never had time to stitch one for me. Thank you so much Toni...you are an angel! love ya girlie!

And last but not least...a picture of Kelsey with her eyes open! She even stayed still so it didn't blurr. Thank you Miss Kelsey! She is now 4 weeks old and weighs 8 pounds!

Have a great night stitching. laurel

Politics and Politicians

Here are some jokes and funny stories about politics and politicians.

The government is sneaky. They raise the tax on alcohol, then make sure that the country is in such a mess that you drink more.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't vote - it only encourages them.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's tough being a politician. Half your reputation is ruined by lies; the other half is ruined by the truth!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Redundancy: An airbag in a politician's car!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Limit Congress to 2 terms: 1 in office, 1 in jail.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The statesman shears the sheep, the politician skins them.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only in America......do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.

These baskets are done!

Allison's Easter Baskets

Stephanie's Easter Baskets

Stephanie's kids ...Lane, Maylee and Caden

We are done with these baskets...the next time they will be seen...is on Easter morning! Stephanie was still canning green beans when I left! I think she said this morning she had 56 jars and more to go. So here are the pictures of the finished baskets and some of Stephanie's green beans. I am officially done with baskets ....till the next time!!! lol Lets see Jamie needs 3, and Brittany needs 3 and Ashley (Stephanie and Allison's sister)needs 2 baskets! lol
Here is Morgan standing next to some field corn...sure does make her look short!
Here is my name sake....just down the road from Stephanie's house!
yeah...I know..can't get my kids to name a grand daughter after me...so the State of Ohio felt sorry for me...(not true) LOL

Finishing up the baskets day

Today I am going to go out to help finish up the Easter Baskets. Stephanie has made her 3 and Allison has 2 to finish up. Since Allison had to go back to work, Stephanie an I will finish hers. Stephanie is also canning green beans! When we get done with the baskets I will bring the reed home and hope that Jamie and Brittany will want to get started on their baskets soon.
I did get alot of stitching done last night...on Kelsey's Christmas Stocking

Here is a picture of Kaidyn and her blanket. There is just something about 3 year olds...they want their pictures taken...but just don't have time! She says she loves her blanket. Now Brittany can put her baby blanket away! The other night when Kaidyn and I went to bed Kaidyn said to me...Me-maw...I just love having sleepovers with you. God bless the kids......they seem to say the right stuff at the right times! Gotta love em!

Well off for now...Morgan and I have basket business to tend to. Have a great day and I will post pictures later. huggerz laurel

The house is now quiet...........

Here is how far I have gotten on Kelsey's Christmas Stocking.

All the kids have left to go home.....this house is so quiet! It is almost deafening. I have somewhat straightened up and will leave the dishes till later. Then I am going to curl up with my stitching and work on the Snowman swirls by Bent Creek and just kind of relax and let my hair down...what's left, of my hair that is. Braylon loves to pull hair! Jamie brought over chocolate donuts for Kaidyn this morning and Kaidyn has been on a HUGE sugar high most of the day. I thought she would settle down but I found her drinking my diet coke...so she had some caffeine to go with all the sugar! lol
